Heart Art Kit Recipe:
Limit your color palette to one or two colors. This design works best when you rely on tile shape and finish to create interest.

Ball Chain 24 inches (2 feet) recommended

Water-based glue like Aleene's Tacky Glue or Elmer's
Grout (optional) *
*Pre-Step 1 (optional)
If you decide not to grout, it is helpful to paint your base with acrylic paint first so the tile stands out better visually. With most tile colors I recommend painting the base either black or white. Let the paint dry completely before moving on to Step 1.
Step 1: glue the ball chain to the swirl outline.
Transfer the swirl outline to your wooden base.
With your bottle of water-based glue, run a light line of glue along the swirl.
Lay the ball chain into the line of glue. Set the project aside for a couple hours to let this dry.
Step 2: Arrange your tile within the design
Pour out all your tiles to access them easily. Arrange them on the printout of the 6" heart outline. If grouting you want to leave a bit of space between the tiles. If not grouting, the tile can be as tight as you like.
Once you are happy with your design, pick up each tile and put some glue on the back of it and place it onto the wooden base.
When all of the tiles are glued down, leave your piece to sit for a few hours.
After a few hours turn your heart over and glue on any tiles that have fallen off.
If you are not grouting, you are done!
If you want to grout your project, you'll find instructions on that here:
