For years I had been looking for tiny tiles to use in my mosaic classes. I stumbled on these beauties and just had to have them! Kismet Mosaic tiles are made in Turkey by experienced glass artisans who saw the opportunity for beautiful mosaic tiles in a pile of broken glass from a nearby window pane company. Ingenuity + serendipity = Kismet ! This is recycling at its finest.
The factory crushes the window glass to a fine powder and adds natural oxides & to create 60 beautiful colors, reminiscent of the vibrant colors of Istanbul textiles and Turkish tiles that have been admired for centuries.
Kismet Gloss: the natural, shiny essence of glass
Kismet Iridescents: Iridescent colors have been made by adding metallic compounds to the glass and reheating it in a reducing atmosphere.
Kismet Matte: Matte tiles have a less reflective finish with a 'linen' look to it. What a great alternative to unglazed tile! Color throughout and so easy to cut.
To enhance your shopping experience Kismet tiles are divided into size (8mm = a little over 1/4", 12mm = a little less than 1/2") as well as Warm (black, white, tans, browns, yellows, reds, pinks, oranges & yellows) and Cool (blues, greens, purples, teals) Colors.
See PRODUCT INFORMATION page for more details on other Kismet products.
